Monitoring integration for facilities, structures and industrial machinery

BAEVLE LLC operates as a systems monitoring integration practice. We do not sell a single product; we design the instrumented path from the sensor touching the structure or machine, through the logic that decides when a reading deserves attention, to the archive that keeps the record readable years later. The six services below are the channels we practice, and most engagements combine several of them.

The Six Services

Each channel is written down, calibrated and kept

Read them in order or jump to the one that matches your facility. Every service is delivered with documentation that a future engineer can follow.

Structural Sensor Network Design

A structure reveals its condition through movement: how it settles, how it flexes under dynamic load, how it responds when wind, traffic or machinery pushes energy into it. Structural sensor network design is the discipline of choosing where to listen and how to mount the instruments so those movements are captured faithfully. We begin with an engineering survey of the asset, talk to the people who maintain it, and identify the behaviours that genuinely matter for safety, serviceability and long-term integrity.

Only once the questions are written down do we place hardware. Accelerometers, strain gauges, tilt sensors, displacement transducers, crack monitors and temperature references are assigned to specific locations with specific orientations, and the reasons for each placement are recorded. The result is a sensor plan, a mounting specification and a wiring schedule that an installation team can execute without interpretation.

  • Behaviour-led channel selection rather than blanket instrumentation
  • Mounting and orientation drawings for every installed point
  • Cable routing, junction and protection planning
  • Baseline capture at commissioning to anchor future comparison

Machine Condition Monitoring

Rotating and reciprocating machinery announces its decline long before it fails. Machine condition monitoring turns those announcements into a trend line that maintenance planners can act on. We build vibration, temperature, current and pressure monitoring around motors, gearboxes, pumps, compressors, fans and process drives, capturing a healthy baseline at commissioning and then watching for the slow drift that indicates wear.

Our approach separates load-driven and seasonal variation from genuine degradation, which is the difference between a monitoring system that warns you early and one that cries wolf until nobody looks. Where a machine has characteristic fault frequencies, we configure the analysis to watch them specifically, so a developing bearing or misalignment fault surfaces as a recognisable signature rather than a vague increase.

  • Healthy baselines captured and documented at commissioning
  • Vibration, thermal, current and process-signal channels
  • Trend analysis tuned to fault frequencies where applicable
  • Findings written in language a maintenance planner can schedule against

Alert Pipeline Engineering

An alert that arrives late, arrives twice, or never arrives at all is worse than no alert, because it trains a team to ignore the system. Alert pipeline engineering is the careful construction of the logic layer between raw readings and human response. We define thresholds, rates of change, hysteresis bands, suppression windows and escalation tiers, then route each class of event to the people who can act on it at the hour it happens.

Every rule carries a written rationale and a version number. Six months or six years later, when a question is asked about why a specific notification fired, the answer is on file. We test logic against recorded data before it goes live, and we deliberately withhold noise so that the alerts which do fire carry weight.

  • Thresholds, rates of change and suppression windows configured and tested
  • Escalation tiers matched to real shift and on-call structures
  • Versioned rules with written rationale for each
  • Routing to email, telephone or operational systems as required

Telemetry Archive Platforms

Telemetry archive platforms are the long memory of a monitoring practice. We build the time-series ingestion, retention policy and query surface that allow an operator to ask what a specific sensor read at a specific second, years in the past, and receive a trustworthy answer. These are not dashboards for the current moment alone; they are stores designed for the lifetime of the asset.

Data is held in open, exportable formats so that the record belongs to the operator rather than to a single tool or licence. Retention rules are agreed against regulatory, warranty and investigative needs, and the archive is documented so that a future team can continue to query it without vendor assistance.

  • Time-series ingestion designed for years of continuous data
  • Retention policy agreed against operational and regulatory needs
  • Open export formats that outlive individual tools
  • Query surfaces for investigations, audits and root-cause work

Sensor Calibration Services

Sensors drift, and a network that was trustworthy in its first year can be quietly misleading by its fourth. Sensor calibration services keep every channel honest. We run scheduled calibration verification against traceable references, document the results, and file each calibration record alongside the telemetry it qualifies so that the audit trail stays complete.

Where a channel has drifted beyond its stated tolerance, we investigate whether the cause is the sensor, the mounting, the wiring or the environment, and we correct the underlying issue rather than simply adjusting a number. Calibration is treated as part of the record, not as an administrative chore to be skipped when budgets tighten.

  • Scheduled calibration verification against traceable references
  • Written accuracy statements for every monitored channel
  • Investigation of drift causes including mounting and environment
  • Calibration records filed with the telemetry they qualify

Remote Monitoring Integration

Many of the sites that most need monitoring are unmanned, seasonal, or simply far from the people who care about their readings. Remote monitoring integration connects the field layer to a managed remote view without sacrificing continuity of the record. Gateways, local buffering and store-and-forward handling keep the trace intact through network outages, so a link failure becomes a gap in transmission rather than a gap in data.

We design the reconnection behaviour deliberately: what is buffered, how long it is held, how it is reconciled on recovery, and how the operator is told that a period was reconstructed rather than received live. The result is a remote view that operators can trust whether they are standing on site or a thousand miles away.

  • Gateway and network design for unmanned or distant sites
  • Local buffering and store-and-forward through outages
  • Documented reconnection and reconciliation behaviour
  • Consistent trace visibility for on-site and remote teams

Process Overview

From objective to kept record

  1. Survey and objective setting

We walk the structure and the machine hall, agree which behaviours must be observed, and define what a meaningful event looks like before any hardware is named.

  2. Design and schedule

Channels are mapped to locations, orientations, mounting methods and cable routes, producing a schedule that can be priced, installed and inspected on site.

  3. Installation and commissioning

We support mounting, wiring and first power-up, capture baselines, and verify that each channel responds as the design predicted.

  4. Logic and archive deployment

Alert logic is configured and versioned, the telemetry archive and retention policy are deployed, and the operator team is trained on reading and exporting the record.

  5. Calibration and review

An ongoing calibration cadence is set and periodic reviews adjust the design as the asset ages and the questions change.
